Why We Invested in Reframe, the Future of Human-Centric Computing

A very credentialed team comes out of stealth and makes a statement on simplification.

Why We Invested in Reframe, the Future of Human-Centric ComputingWhy We Invested in Reframe, the Future of Human-Centric Computing

For all the unprecedented technological proliferation we’ve lived through, our workplace tools have complicated getting tasks done about as much as they’ve helped. We’re switching between Slack and email, sending Zoom invites and accepting Teams meetings, making Airtables and Excel sheets in equal measures, searching Notion for documentation that’s in Google Docs. It gets messy. The desktop as we originally envisioned it has not fundamentally changed since the 1980s.

So we’re thrilled to welcome Reframe out of stealth as the team announces $5 million in seed funding, co-led by Primary and Eniac Ventures, with participation from Founder Collective and Operator Partners.

With Reframe, fragmented work apps and scattered information are brought into one more intuitive stream of information and tasks, and a more human-led, context-aware way to get work done. Compatible with all operating systems, tools, and AI agents, Reframe serves as a wraparound environment that lets you keep your current setup while organizing everything with contextual awareness - making your existing tools more powerful and work flow as it was always intended.

When Jeff Szczpanski came to us with the idea we got what he was trying to solve right away. And we were equally excited about the team doing it. Brad knew Jeff’s previous work scaling and exiting StackOverflow (as COO) and Allworx Corp (as cofounder and CTO), where Brad sat on the board and saw Jeff’s deep and unique combination of technical, product, revenue leadership, and general management experiences. And Jeff has now assembled many of the most standout alumni from his illustrious career to join him at Reframe.

Jeff and his team of close friends and colleagues from previous startups like Stack Overflow and Sphere have created the Organized Work Environment (OWE); a native application for MacOS and Windows that transforms traditional desktops into dynamic, context-aware workspaces. By organizing apps, AI tools, and information into “Streams,” Reframe reduces cognitive load and enables deep focus, helping users manage their digital work environment in a way that aligns with how they naturally think and work. The OWE also enhances collaboration by allowing multiple users to interact within the same context-aware Streams, enabling seamless communication and coordination across teams.

Brad had been waiting for the chance to write the check we’re announcing today, and we hope you’ll join us in trying out this new way of working soon.
